World Economic Forum on Africa
Dar es Salaam, Tanzania 5-7 May 2010
Designing Africa’s New Deal
The transition to a post-crisis world presents a unique opportunity to rethink the roadmap for Africa’s future. Much will depend on how Africa positions itself, at home and abroad, as the rules governing global cooperation and financial architecture are redesigned. Many are calling for greater African representation at the discussions of the G20, World Bank and IMF and, critically, at the climate change talks in Copenhagen.
Will African and global leaders rise to the challenge and negotiate a new deal for Africa?
At this important juncture, Tanzania, for the first time, will host the 20th World Economic Forum on Africa in East Africa. Discussions will tackle the region’s most pressing challenges and explore the opportunities to unlock Africa’s growth potential. The meeting continues the World Economic Forum’s long-standing tradition of uniting business, government and civil society leaders committed to shaping the regional agenda and furthering Africa’s voice in global affairs.
