"We produce RF and Microwave Filters - mostly for the mobile telecommunications industry. We are currently experiencing strong growth and foresee this to continue as frequency real estate is limited and new technologies and communication standards will utilize frequencies in ever more congested "neighborhoods". Filters are used to separate wanted from not wanted frequencies, which is the more important, the closer certain frequency bands are to each other. "

I managed Asian equity hedge funds and long/short Asian prop trading books for most of my career. Funds that I originated, marketed, and managed from late 2001 onwards were market neutral (in practice closer to short biased), Long Biased and Long Only. Total funds raised were around 100m USD. The market neutral Asian fund was on average close to 10% net short over a 4 1/2 year period from March 2003 until October 2007 (i.e. during a raging bull market) and still managed an average annual 9% return over that time period. In practically all down months, the fund was up. This fund was conceived for a group of investors who in 2003 foresaw the coming financial crisis and asked me to provide a fully protected strategy that would achieve better returns than cash. However, by October 2007 they had grown impatient waiting for weak markets and decided to pull out all money and transfer it to a long-only Asian fund. The long biased China Fund was on average 50% net long over a 3 1/2 year period (from July 2003 until Jan 2007) and achieved average annual returns of 25%, while its volatility was significantly less than that of the H-share index. Another China Fund I launched with 15m USD in late 2007, which was supposed to be very long biased (for the same group that pulled out of the market neutral fund), was discontinued just a few months later as the medium term outlook seemed poor for such a long-biased strategy.

I first worked from within those other companies, but eventually founded Altasia in Singapore to operate more independently from there. This company doesn't currently manage any assets and I am now involved in the family business in Munich, Germany (telecommunications technology). Altasia may in the future be used as a vehicle to advise/manage new funds. "
