Summary
I am an experienced ESL and Content Writing teacher. I left my teaching job when I got pregnant with my 2nd child and decided to give content writing a try and there has been no looking back and absolutely no regrets. I have written innumerable articles, website content, blogs and Ezines. I also have some experience of writing eBooks. My fav. assignment to-date has been working on BoomerYearbook.com as Dr. Karen Turner gives me an amazing amount of freedom to choose my topics and I write pretty much what catches my fancy for that day so it's a dream assignment. :)
I am also doing volunteer work with a non-profit organization called Samasource that is based in San Francisco, CA. I am currently working as a virtual assistant. I also have a deep appreciation for their aim to encourage socially responsible outsourcing and their slogan of "Give work, Not aid" is what really strikes a chord with me being from a low-income country myself. As such I have started to help out other women find work through oDesk and clients that I've worked in the past who are kind of enough to listen and give me bulk writing assignments that I can assign to these talented ladies.
I hope to be able to train women in this area as they are the most vulnerable part of the society I live in and enable them to become not only financially but emotionally independent of others. To help them raise their self-esteem and find a way of utilizing their education while at the same time follow the rules set by society and religion is a mission very dear to my heart and I am taking baby steps towards achieving it.
