Summary
Philippe Jouard is heading the Origination and Business Development group of QInvest, the leading Qatar-based Islamic investment bank. Prior to this position, Philippe was member of the Executive Board of Dexia – BIL and CEO of the global Wealth Management and Corporate Banking division of the Dexia group. Philippe actively designed and implemented the successful corporate strategy of the division which grew its asset base from EUR 28bn to EUR 55bn four years later.
Prior to joining Dexia, Philippe was a Director of Credit Suisse co-heading the global Wealth Advisory initiative launched to foster the integration of the investment banking (CSFB) and Wealth Management divisions in Europe.
Before, Philippe Jouard was member of the Board and Executive Director of UBS in France where he created the Private Bank unit, conducting several major sell-side mandates for French family-owned companies.
Prior to joining UBS, Philippe had spent 7 years with JP Morgan in Paris and in London as member and later Head of the European Wealth Advisory practice formed as a joint venture initiative between the Private Banking and the Investment Banking divisions. In this capacity he worked extensively on major mergers & acquisitions situations, international tax structures and equity advisory transactions.
Philippe Jouard started his career within the Pechiney (now ALCAN) group in project finance where he participated in the refinancing of the Tomago smelter unit in Australia and spent three years in the M&A practice of Worms & Cie Finance where he advised several groups in divesting or acquiring assets in diversified industries. He also worked with GE Capital in the Corporate Finance division advising and executing several major and innovative LBO mandates in France.
