An investment banker, with an aim to “create a dent in the Universe”, Noor thrives on innovation in finance, entrepreneurship and women markets. She was given the title of “Ambassador for women development” for launching the careers of hundreds of women through advisory, grooming and loans.

Noor co-founded the Shahina Aftab Foundation (SAF), with the aim of providing women across the globe chance at life through skill development, technology & micro-finance. Her work was covered by BBC. This was later reproduced by Forbes, USA Today, Martha Vineyard Times & Hindustan Times among others. Curtin University covered her work in the article titled “Banking on social change” (July 8, 2010) and Pakistan’s largest accounting website ACCA Pakistan did her exclusive interview after floods on strategies to employ micro-finance in the greatest tragedy on earth, floods of Pakistan.

At SAF, Noor leads a dynamic team to create a micro-finance revolution by converting calamity hit, financially excluded, social outcast women into dynamic agents of change. Her work results in frequent invitations at international events to showcase the methodology. Noor has financially engineered innovative microfinance products for women such as Jaheez Loans, Education Loans & Health Loans. She has also redefined the microfinance models by introducing community development, corporate CSR budgets and social media into her programmes.

Her accomplishments include, turning around the First Women Bank Limited (FWBL); heading Pakistan’s oldest (1989-2009) & largest Micro-finance portfolio at FWBL (1 Million Borrowers), and approving/rejecting thousands of loans of women businesses. In one of her projects at FWBL, credit worth Rs 32.56 Million ($500,000) was distributed to women in 137 villages where some 680 micro business units were setup. Over 6,000 women were provided skilled training. With a recovery rate of 100%, two of the micro-borrowers of the program went on to win the Citi PPAF awards. On the social side, some 5,742 children were pulled out of child labor and provided informal education.

She worked closely with the Central Bank of Pakistan on its Micro-finance initiative becoming the youngest Banking Executive to chart the future of Micro finance in Pakistan. She held the position of Co-chair on committee on SME & Micro-finance at Pakistan Bankers Association. Noor represented Pakistan’s Micro-finance sector at Abraaj’s Celebration of Entrepreneurship (Nov, 2010 attended by 1,200 participants) and is invited to the Skoll Conference in Oxford (March, 2011).

At Fauji Foundation (Pakistan's largest conglomerate) she introduced the investment grid helping CEOs/ CFOs & board members of over 18 businesses make timely & accurate financial decisions that ensured locking out competition and brought records profits. In 2007, she was handpicked for President of Pakistan's Investment Initiatives at Board of Investment, Pakistan where assets under management were $49.6 Billion.
